Director/Head Teacher:   Stephanie

Stephanie founded Sunlight Montessori to create an ideal atmosphere where children naturally transition from a caring home to a nurturing education center.  Sunlight Montessori offers a stimulating, creative and safe place for children to begin their first step on their journey into formal education. The small classroom size enables close relationships to develop between the students, teachers and parents. Her goal is to have the children continue being excited learning about the wonders of this world and beyond.

Stephanie began working in traditional preschools during college and received her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Denver. After working many years in varied schools in Colorado, California and Montana with diverse groups of children, she received her teaching certificate with American Montessori Society (AMS) in 2003. In 2007 she opened Sunlight Montessori and is excited to share her dream with other families.  Her joy of singing with the children daily and her desire to continue providing excellence in early childhood education led her to become a Kindermusik teacher. Stephanie lives in Whitefish, Montana with her husband and two children.

Assistant Teacher:  Margaret

Margaret is excited to be assisting Stephanie this year.  She has lived in the
Flathead Valley for twenty-eight years and graduated from Whitefish High
School.  She and her family moved to Columbia Falls where she was a
stay-at-home mom with her three children for thirteen years.  Margaret has
worked for Columbia Falls School District for the past four years as well as
substituting for Sunlight Montessori.  She enjoys working at Sunlight and finds the Montessori philosophy intriguing and was thrilled when Stephanie offered her the position.  Margaret loves kids.  She especially loves this age because they are so fun and eager to learn.
